This page is intended to reflect our learning in 6025 course and to appreciate our lovely lecturer for teaching us a very useful knowledge.

Mavis

“It is a useful course which teaches me how to design a better lesson or course based on the RASE model. The most exciting part of the course is that we engage in various classroom activities and have a lot of opportunities to collaborate with peers. We discussed our group learning plan, made digital video, designed small scale study together. I cannot say how appreciated I am to meet my group mates, everyone is different and good at several aspects, but we speared the best collaboration time. Yang Li, always well-organized and have perfect arrangements for the group work, which makes our collaborative task going smoothly. Rian, a creative and modest partner, often provides constructive opinion in group discussion. Wu Xiaojun, who has the experience of working as a teacher, shared her working experience with us which made us learned a lot. Ouyang Yao, an active and considerate partner, hard-working and always brought laughter into our discussion. All in all, we made a perfect group for we learned from each other and everyone has made progress.”

“This course Teaching and Learning with Information Technology provides me the basic knowledge about how to make good use of IT to support my teaching. I think it is very useful for teachers who want to improve their teaching quality. Based on RASE theory, I knew how to make a learning design plan. Then, as a group project, I learned how to use some digital tools and online resources to enrich our classroom activities, such as making a digital storytelling, designing a multimedia resource and so on. Besides compared with some traditional teaching ideas, I think I think it is very interesting to learn some modern teaching methods, like mobile learning, micro-learning and so on.”

“This course gave me some fresh thoughts about how to organize my classroom activities, and how to help my students become active learners. Theses thoughts were from both my teachers and my classmates, especially my group members. We worked together to make our group schedules, exchange our ideas, deal with different opinions, and be accountable for our roles. Through the every week activities, we finished this project, and each group member gave me a lot of help. The RASE model gives me a clear guidance to organize the lesson.The experience through this course showed me how to put the “resources, activities, supports and evaluation” into practice. What is more important is that I start to rethink the role of teachers and students and when learning really happens. When I come back to my work in the future, I hope that with this new perspective I can encourage my students to communicate with each other, engage in the classroom activities, and express their opinions, and learn more from my class.

“I am glad to be instructed by lovely Natalie to learn teaching and learning with information technology. Collaborating with such efficient and creative members, I learned to reorganize the content. Ouyang Yao is the active girl in our group, we always getting pleasure from her. Yang Huixuan is pretty and beautiful,  she took responsibility for organizing the discussion to us. Yang Li is knowledgeable and always come with new ideas. Our foreign friends are wonderful, good at writing and programming. What we admire the most is that he has a lovely son last month, his life was wonderful. I hope next semester I can collaborate with them again. Teaching and learning with information help me with the problems I had on my previous teaching experience, I used to regard teaching and learning with information technology as used computer and projector in class. After this course, I know I can utilize technology design online quiz for exam what students have learned, that  there are formative assessment and summative assessment for assessing students’ learning outcome, the most interesting thing is that there are a great number of app and website which provides opportunities to students access to technological learning environment, that’s quite helpful for some of us who want to become teachers in the future.

“This course is really interesting, until now I just use IT as a tool not as a pedagogical practice that could enhance active learning. The lecturer which is Natalia is very lovely too, she introduced RASE framework model to design our learning plan. The RASE framework model is very useful for us and it could be implemented in our future learning plan as an instructor, teacher or lecturer. Besides, I have a wonderful experience teaming up with such wonderful teammates like Yang Li, Ola, Mavis, and Mrs. Liang. Yang Li is mature and critical when we’re discussing something, Ola is creative and humorous, she usually gives an insightful idea to our discussion, Mrs. Liang is very keen and mature, her experience as an IT teacher is very helpful for our group’s project, and Mavis is a rapid learner and diligent person, she accelerates her knowledge from beginning until the end of the lesson. I learned a lot from them and hopefully we can have a final meeting in the next semester to celebrate our group’s work achievements.”
